@@keala5024 Accreditation is a term reserved for colleges and universities. Since we are a private school, we go through an approval process with state education boards instead. We are fully vetted and approved to operate in every state we are in!
Having good veins is my biggest flex. Like the compliments i used to get during plasma donations were top notch. I never felt so wanted

I've never had any issues with phlebotomists taking blood. They've always said how much they love my veins. I have quite translucent skin, you can see the veins running all the way up my arms.....probably the only time im happy about my arms, otherwise i keep them covered up 🤣😂

I want to see the reaction to doing an ABG instead of your average venous draw.
I can count the good times ive had with phlebotomists on one hand with all the tests ive needed in 26 yrs with constants admissions and 6months of uncontrolled warfarin at one point too. I deadset wanted to do my phlebotomy course just to show i knew what i was talking about. Im in australia

That is how they react to my husband. My poor son is the complete opposite. He is a former micropreemie so his veins are WILD, Tet so they disappear when he is mad, blow if your breathe on him, oh and they roll. He also pulls out IVs.

@@Intelvio yep. Anytime he is hospitalized we tell them “he is as easy to give oral meds as he is hard to give IV meds”. The face of any nurse who has seen him do one of those = 😮. They get him on oral meds as SOON as possible. They never have to remove his IVs 🤷🏼♀️

Interesting channel. What schooling is required to become a phlebotomist, and how long will that schooling take? Also, at where cah that schooling be taken, and for how much the cost? Is a phlebotomist a job that you can do alone, or will you most likely have to pick up a side job? I originally thought that doctors would ge responsible for phlebotomy as well as their normal job, never knew there was a speciric job dedicated to this - or maybe I'm misunderstanding. Anyhow, thanj you, this is cool and interesting!
@@taiyo-osuke Phlebotomists can train either with courses at a college/university or at a trade school. The length of schooling varies greatly because of this. It can range anywhere from a few weeks to 6 months. This also causes the price to vary greatly. Lots of programs cost somewhere around $2,000. Phlebotomists can definitely make a career out of their job. The more experienced the phlebotomists is, the more they earn! Doctors don't usually practice this skill, but phlebotomists aren't the only ones who do! Many nurses are skilled in phlebotomy as well. However, there is more to phlebotomy than just drawing blood, so phlebotomists are an important part of a healthcare team!

Phlebotomist here! Butterflies can actually cause more bruising if your veins aren't small enough/pressure not low enough! I know it sounds counterintuitive but it's the truth!
